James W. Helms

James W. “Jim” Helms, 65, passed away on September 21, 2021. Born in Monroe, NC, he was the son of James Daniel and Lenoria Griffin Helms. Jim rose to the command of Chief and retired from the US Navy in 1996 after 22 years of service. Jim was a devout Christian. He loved the Lord and he loved his family. He also enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, and golfing.

He survived by his loving wife, Eileen Helms; his sons, Stuart Helms (Jessica); James D. Helms (Nicole); James L. Helms; a daughter, Valerie Helms; mother, Lenoria Griffin Helms; his brothers, Danny and Tony Helms; sisters, Karen Atkins; Sherry Musselwhite; Teresa Helms; five grandchildren, Stuart James Helms; AnnMarie Helms; Robert Watson; Angel Watson, and Claire Helms. Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Daniel.
