Born in Cairo, Egypt on April 18, 1944 to Leopold and Joanne, Fred and his parents immigrated to the United States in 1963. In 1973, he married Geri, his beloved wife, and they had two children – Laura and Freddy.
For 37 years, Fred worked as a mechanical engineer for both IBM and Lockheed Martin. Outside of work, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and repairing cars. However, his greatest joy was attending men’s Bible studies. Fred will be most remembered for his deep, evident love for his family and friends. Fred made everyone he encountered feel loved and important, and his unique sense of humor consistently created an abundance of joy and laughter. Both family and friends will immeasurably miss his loving, caring spirit. He truly cared for people.
The most important aspect of Fred’s life was his love for and dedication to God. He shared the love of Christ with everyone he met – from coworkers to family to strangers. Throughout the past twelve years, Fred was hospitalized several times, but he prayed for and shared the gospel with everyone who entered his room no matter how well or how poorly he felt. His passion was to let his light shine and his mission was to lead people into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Though Fred struggled with numerous health conditions, he fought a good fight and he ran a good race; he is now rejoicing in the presence of his Lord.
Fred is survived by Geri, his children, their spouses, and his six grandchildren; Laura and Byron Spicer, their children Akea and Charlie; Freddy and Dawn Weindelmayer, their children Isaiah, Sarah, Ellie, and Abigail. In addition, he is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandra Baltazar, her husband Bob Baltazar, their son Rob, his wife Shannon, and their children - Joe and Rachel. His cousins in Italy – Giusto, Gilberto, Therese, and their families, also survive Fred.
Fred’s family would like to thank everyone who loved and cared for him. He will be greatly missed.
