Dr. Ervin E. Bagwell, Sr. passed away at home on Sunday, September 1, 2024. Erv, born on January 24, 1936 in Honea Path, SC, was a son of the late Hardy and Lila Woodson Bagwell. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sara Page Bagwell; two adult children, Karen Bagwell Donaldson (Billy), Ervin E. Bagwell, Jr. (Diane); brother, Ron Bagwell (Victoria); and a number of nieces and nephews.
Dr. Bagwell was Professor of Pharmacology at MUSC in Charleston were he taught medical students and was involved in cardiovascular research.
Erv was nominated in 1987-88 for the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching. He retired in 1993 with the designation of Professor Emeritus.
The family would like to thank the Agape Hospice group for assisting with his care in his last days, as well as Carry Richardson who is like family.
