Eddie Pope

Following graduation from Monroe High School, Eddie joined the US Navy. He met the love of his life, Vicki Huneycutt at church while still in high school, and they were married August 29, 1971. Eddie enjoyed history and was very active in reenactment where he met lifelong historian friends. He also volunteered with the Allen’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, in Marshville, NC. Eddie had a lengthy career in telecommunications retiring in 2006 from Verizon Wireless in Monroe, NC. Following retirement, he and Vicki made a new home in Elizabethton, TN before relocating to North Myrtle Beach in 2018 where they always dreamed of living.

In addition to his wife of almost 52 years, Eddie is survived by his sons, Cory Dean Pope (wife, Elizabeth “Beth”) and Casey Brandon Pope (wife, Kristi) and two beautiful granddaughters, Berkley Reece Pope and Charli Kamdyn Pope.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his memory to the South Carolina Chapter of the Patriot Guard.
