Chester P. “Chet” Kasperek passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at home with his family by his side. He was 80 years old. Born on July 3, 1944, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Chet was the son of the late Bronislaw and Josphine Kutt Kasperek.
On Valentine’s Day 1967, he and Rozette “Penny” eloped beginning a 57-year marriage. A veteran of the United States Army, Chet remained loyal to his country and local communities. Chet served in law enforcement as a Police Officer with the Agawam Police Department in Massachusetts until his retirement. He began a second career in real estate becoming a realtor and broker in both Massachusetts as well as Conway, SC, where he and Penny moved in 2014. He was a faithful Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan. He attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Penny are his children, Kym Sevigne (Jim), Chris Kasperek (Karen); sisters, Evelyn Hunter, Charlotte Martin (Romeo); and grandchildren, Emily, Jessica, Adam and Allison. Chet was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandson, Bodhi.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2025, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
