

Charlie passed away at home on Saturday, 04/12/2025, after a short illness, with Martha by his side.
Charlie was a Boy Scott as a child and a Cub Scout Master and Boy Scout leader as an adult. Charlie loved to go fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. Many winters he was found on the ice, wearing his ice skates, skating from tip-up to tip-up, ice fishing on the lake. He loved working with his hands whether it was on his car or building a deck; carving a peach pit into a monkey or growing tomatoes and peppers on the deck. He graduated from Montclair State University, with a bachelor's degree.
Charlie is predeceased by his parents, and his wife Edith Zimmerman nee Oberer. He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Zimmerman Graham, daughter Corinne Zimmerman and his son Charles E. Zimmerman, Sr. (Gena Zimmerman) He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ashley Holder, Jacob Holder, Taylor Zimmerman (Ethan Meierhoff) and Charles E. Zimmerman, Jr; his favorite in-laws: Ernie & Joan Oberer, Kirby & Liz Oberer, Carl Oberer & Russ Risden as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Charlie was lucky to have found love late in life and is survived by his partner Martha Baker. “In the end your kids did take the tools”.
The services will be held privately with the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
