Brenda B. Clark

Brenda “Sissie” Butner Clark, 79, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 12, 1940 in Rowan County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Louise Bowling Butner.

She was awarded the “Wall Street Journal Business Student of the Year” at Cal State, Fullerton, where she graduated.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband of 57 years, James E. “Ed” Clark; nephews, Dennis C. Lloyd, H. Wayne Lloyd; nieces, Beverly Lloyd, Katie Kaiser, Sarah K. Brogden; great nephews, Jacob Lloyd, Colt E. Brogden; great niece, Jessica Lloyd; and sisters-in-law, Jean Lloyd and Debbie Kaiser.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2020 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Carol Goehring will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sea Haven for Youth, 280 Hwy 57 South, Little River, SC 29566 or Tara Hall Home for Boys, P.O. Box 955, Georgetown, SC 29442. Amedisys Hospice, who cared for Brenda, will be planting a tree in her honor.
