Our beloved sister and friend, Barbara Jean Skinner of Little River, South Carolina passed away on May 16, 2022 after a long battle with health complications. She was born on December 21, 1949 in Natrona Heights, PA to Joseph A. Lukacs and Alice M. Simmers.
Barbara lived a simple life in Little River after moving from Pittsburgh in 2005 following the death of her husband, Jim Skinner. Barbara was loved and cared for by her youngest sister, Shannon Walters and her family. Barbara loved listening to her “oldies”, playing games on her computer, watching old TV shows, talking about childhood memories and sharing special times with her sisters and friends.
Survivors include her two children, Victoria Mazur of Plum, PA; James (Jamie) Skinner of Springdale, PA; her brother and sisters, Joseph J. Lukacs of New Kensington, PA; Mary Alice Foster of Blue Ridge, VA; Shawn P. Lukacs of Blue Ridge, VA; Kim Morris of Fincastle, VA; and Shannon Walters of Little River, SC; 4 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, late husband James Skinner Senior and her beloved sister Polly Ann Dziobak, preceded Barbara in death.
Her family will dearly miss Barbara for her sense of humor and candid conversations. She was definitely, “one of a kind.” We were blessed to share this journey with you and may you rest in peace sister until we meet again.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.leefhandcrematory.com for the Skinner family.
