Alan Rockall, 92, of Little River, SC, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 09, 2020 at the
Brunswick Health and Rehab Facility in Ash, NC.
Alan was born in London, England on September 25, 1927. He was the youngest of 5 children born to, now deceased parents, Albert George Rockall and Elizabeth Jerrom Rockall.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Therese; 2 brothers, Reggie and John; sister, Joan.
Alan is survived by his sister, Eileen, living in London, England; several nieces in England and cousins living in Fairfield and Shelton, CT. He also leaves a step-daughter, Tanya Levesque and her husband, Roger of Bristol, CT. He is also survived by his very special loving friend of many years, Louise LaCroix-Bollweg of the Netherlands and her 2 children, Danielle, living in North Dakota, and Nicole, living in the Netherlands. Danielle and Nicole were very fond of Alan and they dubbed him with the name of “Uncle Rock”! He also leaves his godchild, Craig of Long Island, NY, who also lovingly called him “Uncle Rock”.
Alan lived in many places, amount some of them were Australia, where he worked with his friends, Bernhard, Peter and Bob. Then moved to Canada and from there to the United States. He ended up on Long Island, NY working for Grumman Aircraft. From there he moved to Seymour, Ct., and worked for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Ct, as an Air Frame Specialist Engineer. He retired out of Sikorsky Aircraft in 1993 and moved with his wife Therese to Little River, SC, and lived here for many years enjoying retirement, golfing, and doing his retirement stuff!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to the restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 virus.
