Stanley Michalik, beloved husband of Victoria Michalik; father of Paul (Cynthia), Albert (Dianne) and James (Christine); Loving grandfather of Jeffrey (Brittany), David (Christine), Danielle, Johnathan, Andrew, Rebecca, Stephen and Mark; loving step-grandfather of Taylor Bouton; Fond uncle of many.
Stan was a great friend and acquaintance of countless people in all walks of life. Stan was well-known throughout the Northwest Side of Chicago for his many years as a milkman, and equally in Aurora for his many years with Craftsman Tool & Mold as a machinist. He was active in his faith, serving St. Ferdinand’s Parish in Chicago, St. Gall’s in Elburn, and St. Philip the Apostle in many roles ranging from choir member, usher, to cantor. In keeping with his equal love of sports and young people, he coached the 7th and 8th grade softball team at St. Ferdinand and ran the grade school’s intramural basketball program for many years. Most recently, he loved working as an usher for the Kane County Cougars, for whom he also sang the National Anthem at countless games. He was also a member of the Cragin Drifters for over 60 years.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Lisle, IL on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 11:15 a.m. The memorial mass will be preceded by visitation at the church from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Arrangements have been through Blake Lamb Funeral Home in Lisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Villa St. Benedict Foundation, 1920 Maple Avenue, Lisle, IL 60532, or to Rainbow Hospice Ark, 1601 N. Western Avenue, Park Ridge, IL 60068.
