Michael Joseph Moriarty, 74, died Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the comfort of his own home. He leaves his loving wife of 52 years, Kay (Callahan) Moriarty; his son, Matthew Moriarty and his wife Jennifer; his son Patrick Moriarty and his wife Joni, his son Martin Moriarty; his daughter Magge Moriarty and her companion, Mike; his three grandchildren Ian, Nora and Rohan; and many close friends. Mr. Moriarty, a lifelong Chicago-area resident was born on Chicago's West side. Preceded in death by his parent's Edward and Nora (Gorman) Moriarty, as well as his sister, Mary Ellen Cudio. His parent's immigrated from the Dingle area, County Kerry, Ireland in the 1920's. After graduating from St. Ignatius College Prep in 1959, he attended DePaul University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. He met his wife Kay Callahan, while working at Continental Bank and they were married in 1964. He later took a position with CF Industries, where he led the internal auditing team until his retirement in 2007. Mr. Moriarty had a passion for sports, namely the Chicago Bulls but his real love were the Boston Red Sox, who he cheered on to three World Series Championships. Visitation Wednesday, October 12th 3PM – 8PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home 5015 Lincoln Ave (IL-Route 53), Lisle. Family and friends to gather Thursday, October 13th directly at St. James the Apostle Church 480 S Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn for 10AM Mass.
