Cherished Nana Moie of 27 ¾ great grandchildren who will miss her tradition of tossing lots of candy to them. Sister to Jeanne Hunt, Breta Conlon and William Mahlum. Preceded in death by her husband John D. Connell and her brother John Mahlum. Adored daughter of the late Bree and Milton Mahlum. Devoted friend and irreverent lover of life, wine, family, bridge club, the Cubs, and a good laugh. Her early career as a Social Worker led to her refining her skills on her 8 unruly children. Mary was the administrative assistant for 38 years at St. Joan of Arc in Lisle, remembering every detail about every family, so your secrets are safe now. She was a lifelong devotee of Omar Sharif and pen pal to Ryne Sandberg. Visitation will be on Sunday, 12/6, from 3-8 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln, Lisle, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Monday, 12/7, at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, on the corner of Kingston and Front St. in Lisle, IL. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to St. Joan of Arc “Adopt a Student Program”. “This too shall pass…Remember whose children you are."
