She was born in Norwalk, Ohio on January 4, 1953, daughter of the late Clemens and Blandina (Schnurr) Smith. She was preceded in death by her brother(s) Howard and James Smith of Norwalk, Ohio.
Marianne was an LPN and enjoyed helping others. She loved spending time with her family and friends, taking walks, spending time in nature, meditating, and volunteering at the Science of Spirituality.
She is survived by her three daughters Anna Pechin (Adam) of Lisle, Illinois, Gwen (Duane) Miller of Dundee, Ohio, Brenda (Wade) Osburn of Deersville, Ohio; two sons, Jason (Ramona) Brock of Killbuck, Ohio, and James Brock of Warsaw, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, Kory, Layne, Kennedy, Isaac, Aliyah, Brady, Mila, Breanna, Carly, Maelea, Vin, and one on the way and four great-grandchildren, Bella, Kory, Brock and Harper. She is also survived by five brothers Alfred (Dorothy) Smith, Thomas Smith, Lawerence (Lisa) Smith, William (Suzanne) Smith, and Stephen (Debbi) Smith; four sisters Frances Smith, Bernadette (Jo) Caramat, Marcella (Don) Schaffer, and Theresa Schaffer, and a sister-in-law, Sharon Smith as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held by invitation/RSVP only at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle on Friday, July 30th, 2021 at 6 PM in the Thornhill building (the Founders and Arbor rooms). Dinner will be provided. Please contact Anna at 630-729-4836 as space is limited.
We chose The Morton Arboretum as the location to remember Marianne because she loved to walk there. The Morton Arboretum is giving free admission to the memorial guests. Come early and enjoy a walk around the beautiful grounds in memory of Marianne. She particularly loved to walk the pathways around Marmo Lake.
