In Loving Memory of Lorraine Zapatka: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lorraine Zapatka on March 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Lorraine will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Chester (Marsha), and daughter, Bonnie (Vic); her grandsons Steve (Heather), Andy (Brie), David (Tara), and Dan (Yesenia); and her granddaughter Sheila (Eddie). Lorraine’s love extended across generations, and her presence brought warmth and joy to her family.
She lived a vibrant and adventurous life, embracing her love of the outdoors, traveling, gardening, and the occasional thrill of playing the slot machines. Known for her youthful spirit and unwavering honesty, Lorraine left her stamp on the lives she touched. Lorraine was the cherished wife to Chester Zapatka, with whom she shared 57 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in March of 2000. Their enduring love remains a testament to the bond they shared.
Visitation will take place on March 26, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home located at 5015 Lincoln Ave, Lisle, Illinois. A service will also be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home the following morning on March 27, 2025 at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Noon at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. A luncheon to share memories of Lorraine will follow shortly after.
Lorraine’s warmth, laughter, and love will be missed deeply, but her memory will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
