Jennie E. McHugh

Jennie McHugh, nee Jensen, died at age 89 on March 31, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick Joseph; loving mother of Jane (Ron) Miller, Margaret “Peggy” (Jake) Giamalva and Thomas (Tina) McHugh; grandmother of Shawn (Katie) Miller, Shannon Doll, Michael McKenney, Katherine and Michael McHugh; great grandmother of Cassidy and Erin Miller and Mason Doll; sister of the late Anne (Edward) Martenson, Margrete (Willie) Amireault and Les Jensen; sister in law of the late Mary (Ed) Dahlberg, Emmett (the late Rita) and Bernard “Bob” (Ginger) McHugh; cousin of Mary Regina (Larry) Morenz. Jennie was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. She served as a member of the Women’s Air Corp in WW II. Married in 1945, she spent the majority of her life in Chicago and Mount Prospect. Her last employment was at Motorola. Jennie’s home was the place of countless family parties and reunions. She loved traveling, and was one of the first visitors to China. Her primary focus was her husband and children, around whom she devoted her life. She spent the last several years of her life living with and being cared for by her son, Tom, his wife, Tina, and their family. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
