November 27, 1956 - January 10, 2023
Daniel Paul Bohi, beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend, died at age 66 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Dan was passionate and kind. He loved to tell a good joke, and loved to tell a bad joke even more. He was always quick to help a friend. He looked for the good in every person he met. He was terrible at matching clothes.
He was the kind of husband who left love notes around the house for his wife to find. He was the kind of father that shimmied up a tree before the sun came up to surprise his daughters with a tree swing for their birthday. He was the kind of Papa that played pretend and rocked out with dance parties and read endless storybooks.
Dan loved God, and spent his life putting his faith into practice. He was full of awe at the natural world, and especially enjoyed astronomy. He loved good wine, great music (from Rush to The Carpenters to The Spice Girls,) traveling with Deb, and spoiling his dog Buddy.
Dan adored his family, and his legacy of love lives on in his beloved wife Deb Bohi, his twin daughters Megan Batt and Jessica Parks, his sons-in-law Andrew Batt and Alec Parks, and his grandchildren Elspeth (10,) Alexander (8,) Joe (7,) and Lillian (5.) Dan loved his adopted Hong Kong child Cynthia and their family Caleb and Acer. He had seven nieces and nephews, three great nieces, one great great nephew, and one great great niece. He loved them all.
Even when talking became difficult, Dan always made sure to express his gratitude and affection and care. Dan had many adventures in life. He liked to take the scenic route (which absolutely did not mean that he was lost and did not want to ask for directions.) He was quietly stubborn and loudly loving. He was a remarkable man, whose quiet life leaves behind enormous ripples.
