AUBURN: Richard R. Ledoux, 73, of Lisbon, passed away Friday November 1, 2013 at the Hospice House in Auburn. He was born in Lisbon on December 27, 1939 son of the late Robert and Cecile (St. Hilaire) Ledoux. He grew up in Lisbon and attended local schools there. He was a graduate of Lisbon High School, class of 1958. On September 19, 1959 he married his high school sweetheart Irene (Murray) at St. Ann’s Church in Lisbon and they started a family together. During his life, Richard worked as a systems analyst for the State of Maine Bureau of Finance and D.O.T. and also as a systems analyst for C.F. Hathaway of Waterville. Richard was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Lewiston. He will always be remembered for being an avid NASCAR fan and an automobile and music enthusiast. He loved spending quality time with his family and he took great pride in his home. He was a very caring and generous man and one of the most special ways that he showed this was by risking his own life at 15 years old to save a girl that was drowning in the Sabattus River in Lisbon. He was awarded a medal of heroism by the American Legion. He was a life-long donator to the American Red Cross. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Irene of Lisbon, two children; Karen LeClair and her husband Peter of Auburn and Eric Ledoux and his wife Sarah of Winslow. He also leaves behind a sister Patricia Fox of Hudson, FL, seven grandchildren; Matthew, Michael and Nicholas LeClair, Renee and Jason Ledoux and Haley and Seth Edwards as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday November 5 from 4-8pm at the funeral home in Lisbon Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday November 6 at 11am at Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon. A committal service will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery also in Lisbon.
