Cumberland Foreside Maine – Myrtle E. (Merrill) Brady, 89, a former long-term resident of Bowdoinham, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. She had been living at the Heron House in Cumberland Foreside for almost 3 years. It was a lovely sunny day, her favorite kind of day, the perfect day to be welcomed into heaven by loved ones she had long lost.
Myrtle was born in Poland, Maine on August 21, 1934, daughter of the late Thomas O. Merrill and Erma W. Tripp. She attended Lovell schools and worked in Childcare, while her children were young. Then she began working at Eastland shoe in Freeport as a young woman. She later made a career for herself at Nordx Laboratories as a Courier.
Myrtle loved working as a courier driver because she loved being on the open road. She knew Maine like the back of her hand, and was always on the lookout for FREE STUFF signs. A love of being outside always produced a large garden, lush yet practical.
She was a long-time devoted member of the Nazarene church. She had a passion for helping people in her church and her community, especially Nanny Theresa and Mrs. Pratt, her best friends for many years. Myrtle also enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed several road trips with her granddaughter, Elizabeth during these last several years.
She is survived by her children, T. Michael Brady (Joyce), Bonnie Brady-Davenport (Robert) and Susan Pollock (Chuck), 13 grandchildren, her sister Alice Burnell and her very large extended family including cousins, nieces and nephews, great and great-great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Patricia Johnson, and was predeceased by nine brothers and six sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Crosman Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Lisbon Falls. A graveside ceremony will follow at Pine Street Cemetery in Auburn.

Psalm 139: O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit or stand. When far away you know my every thought. You chart the path ahead of me, and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment, you know where I am. You know what I am going to say before I even say it. You both precede and follow me, and place your hand of blessing on my head.
