LISBON FALLS — Gregory A. Goddard, 55, a longtime resident of Edgecomb Road in Lisbon Falls, died suddenly at his home on Friday, April 11, 2014, after a long illness. He was born in Lisbon Falls on February 11, 1959 a son of Conrad N. and Cheryl A. (Bickford) Goddard. Greg owned and operated Goddard Construction for several years, until his health declined. He loved working and made many friendships along the way. His true pride and joy was his four daughters and two grandsons. He cherished the time spent with them. He had a unique and special connection with each one and loved them with all his heart. Greg and Lisa shared a truly wonderful bond as they worked together raising their family. He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his late dog, Samson, who could be found following him around the yard, or resting at his feet after a hard day of work. Greg loved to be outdoors. A natural green thumb, he was known for his bountiful gardens. He learned how to garden at a young age from his grandfather Bickford. He spent much of his free time in recent years nurturing and caring for his heirloom vegetables, especially his prize-winning tomatoes. He loved the farm and could often be found working in the garden in the hot sun, or nurturing his seedlings in the greenhouse. He would often be seen wrestling with “old Yeller,” the name he affectionately gave his rototiller. A man of many resources, he enjoyed bringing home numerous finds, his “treasures,” as he called them. Another of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his family and friends at the family camp on Allen Pond, fishing, ice fishing and, particularly his introduction to duck hunting. He was also a member of the Slovak Catholic Association of Lisbon Falls. He was much loved and will be missed by many. He leaves his mother Cheryl Goddard of Lisbon Falls, his life long friend and former wife Lisa (Gayton) Goddard of Topsham, his four daughters, Tera Ann Goddard of Litchfield, Jenna Marie Goddard, of Lisbon Falls, Kayla Rae Goddard of Lisbon Falls, and Breanna Lynn Goddard and her fiancé Mason Lavers of Lisbon Falls, two grandsons Logan Conrad Fortin and Caden Levi Moody, a sister Cynthia Goddard of Norway, two brothers Norman Goddard and wife Judy Hardy-Goddard of Lisbon and Mark Goddard and companion Marcia Cyr-Norris of Lisbon Falls, several nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his father Conrad. You are invited to offer condolences and pay tribute to Greg’s life by visiting his guest book at: http://www.crosman funeralhome.com.
