Born in Cali, Colombia, Salomon came to the United States in 1968, initially working as a maintenance mechanic before proudly serving in the Colombian Navy. Salomon shared a close bond with his family in recent years, showing unwavering love and support through many changes.
He is survived by his wife Zoraida Pena, siblings Oscar and Stella Peña & Gloria Peña DeMicco, daughters Gloria Ines Pena and Joellen Pena; Son, Nestor Mauricio Pena; and loving niece Pilar Peña Sanchez which he considered a daughter, and grandchildren, Hazel Monique Pena, Tyanna Judith Diaz, Kevin Gallego Pena, Mason & Maxx Pena.
Salomon was known for his strong morals, compassion, and empathy. A perfectionist at heart, he always dressed to impress and loved to dance, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. A true people person, he created a loving home filled with warmth and connection.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered not only as a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather but also as a remarkable man who made a lasting impact on his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Visiting 8:30 am until time of funeral mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 155 Washington Ave, Elizabeth, at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
