Rita Herman

Rita Herman, aged 80, peacefully passed away at her residence in Toms River, New Jersey on Thursday, November 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City, Rita was the daughter of the late Harry and Rita Spicer. She completed her education at Johnson Regional High School, graduating in 1962. Following her graduation, she served as the executive assistant to the CEO of Hexacon Electric in Roselle Park. Rita loved caring for children, which led her to work in various child care centers. In her free time, she dedicated herself to volunteering at multiple hospice centers, the Pocono Regional Library, and Meals on Wheels in the Poconos. Rita was an enthusiastic swimmer and body boarder, finding solace in the water and carrying her boogie board wherever she went. Additionally, she enjoyed biking, reading, canoeing, and spending time in nature. Despite her numerous hobbies, her true passion was spending time with her cherished family.

Rita is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Joseph Herman, her daughter Colleen Guevarez and son-in-law Reinaldo, her son Joey Herman, her grandchildren Nicholas, Taylor, Justin, Jack, Carter, and Eliza, her great-granddaughter Gemma, and her sisters Noreen Garron and Patti Catalano.

A visitation for Rita will take place on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, located at 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A repass will follow at Mario's Tutto Bene Restaurant, 495 Chestnut St, Union, NJ 07083 at 5:00PM.
