Richard Baran

Richard Baran, age 90, of Green Brook, New Jersey passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021at the Chelsea of Warren Assisted Living Facility, Warren NJ. Mr. Baran, one of 12 children, was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ and made his permanent home in Linden NJ for 58 years prior to entering the Chelsea in 2020. Richard proudly served his country in the Unites States Army during World War II, 1952-1954 to his retirement, worked for Reichhold Chemical Company. Richard was proud of his Polish heritage, and prior to his illness, volunteered at St. Hedwig's Church, Elizabeth NJ as an usher and performed various kitchen duties including preperation of seasonal pierogi for church holidays. Richard was pre-deceased by his parents, Nora and Alexander Baran, his 11 siblings, and his wife, Laura (nee Szczepanik) Baran in August, 2015. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Richard will be held Friday, July 9, 2021 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at 8437, 2124 East St,. Gorge Ave., Linden, NJ 07036. A funeral mass will take place Friday, July 9, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Hedwig R. C. Church, 600 Mytrle, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. A commital service will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave., Colonia, NJ 07067.
