Paul Errol Wisdom

Paul Errol Wisdom aka, Cheese, Fire, Natty, and King was born on the 15th of June 1957 in Whitfield Town, Kingston, Jamaica W.I. to Donald Lloyd Wisdom (Deceased) and Adlin McKenzie. Paul was the second child for both his parents and the eldest son.

He immersed himself in the Rastafarian community that became his lifelong support. He was a Steam Press Operator for most of his life and a greater teacher of love. He would use terms, such as honor, blessings and respect. He would place a gentle fist across his chest to express his love to those around him. His welcoming and kind spirit attracted many who seeked guidance, advice and an unbiased listening ear. He was a family orientated man, he played his greatest roles as father and grandfather.

Paul was blessed with a large and loving family. He was one of twelve siblings. He assumed his role as a big brother and was looked upon as such. He fathered Rohan, AudyAnn, Kashae and Atara Wisdom with his then life partner, Shyrell Wisdom. Paul later formed a relationship with his lifelong partner Ruby Greene. Their union produced his last child, Paula Wisdom. Paul was also a father to Ruby’s son Demar Hulen. Hence, Demar became his sixth child who was a young boy when he began his courtship with Ruby. Paul and Demar’s relationship remain intact over the years even as Demar became a dad himself. He raised his children with patience, discipline and humility. He taught them to see the beauty in everything but mostly to love and respect others. Given that the family’s name is Wisdom, when any of the children misbehaved he would threaten to remove the “WIS” from the name and leave “DOM” to let them know that their actions is that of a dummy and that in those moments they are not living up to the meaning of their name. Though he was kind and chilled, always just taking it easy he was a stickler for good behavior. He stuttered so was hilarious sometimes when he got upset because he could not get the words out as fast as he would like, therefore the children knew that strong disciplinary actions would follow any bad behavior and the words of wisdom would come later.

Paul was an avid domino player. He would often have victory over those who would team up against him such as his son Rohan, his bothers Carlton and Michael and his sister Carol. He loved music and would listen to cultural songs by his favorite artists, Luciano and Bob Marley. He always expressed gratefulness to God for a new day and life experience. He made it his business to give of himself especially to his children. He was present at every celebration, emergencies, games, doctor’s appointments you name it he was there. He always took the time to reason things out in order to solve a problem, no matter how minute the issue was. His loved ones will dearly miss him.

Paul is survived by his lifelong partner and best friend Ruby Greene; his sons Rohan and Demar; his daughters Audyann, Kashae, Atara, and Paula; his grandchildren Imari, Kayla, Brandon, Hailey, Zaria, Sherri, Rohan Jr, Briana. His mother, Adlin and his siblings, Jean, Michael, Carlton, Annmarie, Rory, Debbie, Carol, Andrew, and Christopher. He also left behind many nieces and nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts and daughter in-law, Esme and many friends. He is preceded in death by his dad Donald Wisdom and his brothers, Richard Wisdom and Mark Nesbeth. Paul left us on May 9th, 2022. He is gone but certainly not forgotten. May his soul Rest In Peace.

A visitation for Paul will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A prayer service will take place Friday, May 20, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A committal service will follow at Saint Gertrudes Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Wisdom Sr., Michael Wisdom Jr., Rohan Wisdom, Carlton Nesbeth, Theodore Nesbeth and Jay Silvera. .
