Miguel Angel Aponte Jr, resident of Scotch Plains, NJ went to be with the Lord on the Saturday November 27th, 2021 at the age of 47. After a year of declining health Miguel passed away peacefully at the long term facility Complete Care in Westfield, NJ.
Miguel was born in Elizabeth, NJ on September 7, 1974. He graduated from Elizabeth High School in 1992. As a young boy, he fell in love with the game of baseball. He played in several little leagues and played for his High School team as a pitcher, winning the State Championships. Miguel dreamed of going pro but life had other plans. Miguel had a creative mind and was extremely handy. He developed a deep interest in construction and worked alongside his dad Miguel Sr. for many years remodeling homes.
Miguel is survived by his parents Miguel and Blanca Aponte. His fiancé of 12 years Melissa Rivera and his children McKenzie Aponte and Kaitlyn Aponte who include his two stepsons: Romeo Truyol and Jose Blanco. He also leaves behind his siblings, Lisa Valentin, Edward Valentin and Denise Aponte.
Miguel was a great man with a kind heart who enjoyed to make people laugh. He also enjoyed watching sports (especially his favorite baseball team the NY Mets), action movies and traveling. He had a lively personality and loved to love on people. He was always willing to give a helping hand without hesitation. Miguel was loved by many and will truly be missed.
A visitation will take place on Friday December 3rd from 5pm-9pm at Krowicicki McCracken Funeral Home 2124 East St. George Ave. Linden, NJ. Thereafter his body will be transported to Adjuntas, Puerto Rico for burial.
