She was born and raised in Jersey City to Frank and Ann Miskiewicz, before moving to Elizabeth in 1952, where she raised her children, Richard Williams, Therese Williams-Reynolds, Lawrence Williams and Michael P. Williams.
Mom was loved with an intensity beyond words.
Mary worked as a secretary at the Jewish Educational Center in Elizabeth for 42 years.
She is predeceased by her husband Stephan Lamanis, and her firstborn son Richard Williams daughter-in-law Cheryl Williams .Mary is survived by her children, Therese Williams-Reynolds and her husband Ken, Lawrence Williams and his wife, Linda and Michael Williams, and stepson Demetrious Lamanis, her sisters, Betty Dobrowolski and Jean Miskiewicz. Her oldest child Richard Williams having sadly predeceased her in 2014. Also surviving are her granddaughter Carly Williams-Masotti and her husband John, great granddaughter Evangeline Masotti, granddaughter Michelle Regin and her husband Ben, granddaughter Lauren Williams, grandson Michael Williams and granddaughter Andrea Lamanis-Sewall and her husband Brad, and great grandchildren Giuliana and Dean.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral mass on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, directly at St. Genevieve RC Church, 200 Monmouth Road, Elizabeth at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Hackensack Cemetery, 289 Hackensack Ave., Hackensack, NJ 07601.
In lieu of flowers, Mary requested that donations be made to any of the following organizations:
St. John's Church in Newark, Salvation Army and Boys Town.
