Marie Georgette Daux

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Marie Georgette Daux, who passed away in Linden, New Jersey, on April 7, 2025. Born in Grande Saline, Haiti, she was the fourth of eleven children of the late Andre Joseph Daux and Marie Emilia Dastinot. She is survived by seven siblings, many nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and her beloved children and grandchildren.

Marie was a devoted daughter, sister, and mother. Raised in a close-knit family, she followed in her mother’s footsteps as a seamstress and salt mine worker. Life brought her many trials, including the loss of two of her five children, but she remained resilient and full of faith. She leaves behind her son Mylri Jean-Pierre (wife Tonia and daughters Roseline and Jasmine), daughters Murgette (daughter AryAnna) and Evelyne Jean-Pierre (daughter Ava-Marie).

In 1988, Marie immigrated to the U.S. with family in pursuit of a better future. Despite tight living quarters, she found comfort in being surrounded by loved ones. A dedicated member of Haitian Jesus Christ Baptist Church in Elizabeth, she found strength in her faith, attending services and reading scripture with her youngest daughter.

Marie worked at Guest Packaging Inc. for over two decades, selflessly supporting her family at home and abroad. She was the cornerstone of her family, helping relatives immigrate and nurturing future generations with unwavering love and devotion. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched—with her unmatched work ethic, warm spirit, and deep belief in family.

Marie Georgette Daux was a true example of sacrifice, strength, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A visitation for Marie will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Jesus Christ Baptist Church, 1127 Rivington St, Roselle, NJ 07203. A prayer service will occur Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, 1127 Rivington St, Roselle, NJ 07203. A committal will occur Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07067.
