Maria J Catanho

Born in Madeira Island Portugal on May 9th 1937.

Maria J. peacefully departed from this world on June 14th 2023, leaving behind cherished memories that forever remain in our hearts. Maria J. was a dedicated Mother who poured her heart and soul into raising her nine children: Angela, Tony, Zeza, Rita, Paula, Alberto, Alcides, Betty and Luis .

Her selflessness knew no bounds, as she tirelessly worked to provide for her family and create a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. In addition to her dedication to family and faith, Maria J. had many passions and interests that brought her immense joy whether it was gardening,crochet,sewing , needle point or engaging in her favorite hobbies, she embraced life with such enthusiasm.

Beyond her role as a mother Maria J. was a grandmother of 20 grandchildren and a great grandma to 4 great grandchildren. She was delighted by their company and created cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have offered their condolences, support and prayers during this difficult time. May we find comfort in the memories we shared and the knowledge that Maria's love will forever be a guiding light in our lives.

Rest in eternal peace, dear Maria J. Catanho. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A visitation for Maria will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, New Jersey 07036. A funeral mass will take place Tuesday, June 20, 2023, 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 403 Spring St., Elizabeth, NJ 07201. A funeral will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067.
