Karen Meima

Karen M. (Smink) Meima, 59, of Linden, NJ, passed away suddenly on the morning of February 13, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Karen was born on January 31st, 1964 to Cyril and Shirley (Zimmerman) Smink in Rahway, NJ, and graduated from Rahway High School in 1982. In 1992, Karen moved to Linden, NJ where she resided until the time of her passing.

Throughout her life, Karen maintained roles with Ralph Lauren and most recently Home Essentials working as an Accounts Receivables Analyst at both companies. Her colleagues would describe her as respectful, dedicated, and hard-working.

Most importantly, Karen was a devoted wife and mother. Her husband, Dwayne Meima, and her three children, Nicholas Parrish, Jeremy Meima, and Abigail Meima will remember her as a strong, loving, and compassionate mother. There was never a time at which Karen wouldn’t put everything aside to support her family, no matter how tough the task was. Her family might not have expressed it out loud much, but they all knew “Mom knows best”.

In addition to her husband and children, Karen is survived by a brother, Steven Smink, and his wife, Diane, and their children, Nicole and Sabrina, all of Brick, NJ; sister Connie (Smink) Parker and her husband Rick, of Rahway, NJ, and her son Jonathan Poffenberger and his wife, Chloe; and sister Melinda Smink of Marion Center, PA. She is predeceased by her parents, both of Shamokin, PA.

We will miss our mother, wife, sister, and friend Karen with all our hearts. Although she was taken from us far too soon, we will cherish the memories we’ve made with her for the rest of our lives. Until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers, Karen’s family would ask that you make a donation to a local no-kill animal shelter or rescue of your choosing in her memory.

A visitation for Karen will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:00AM before going to the funeral mass, which will take place Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish - Roman Catholic Church, 232 Central Ave, Rahway, NJ 07065. A funeral will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave., Colonia, NJ 07067.
