Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather Jose A. Machado was born on 03/12/1939 and entered into eternal rest on 05/11/2023 surrounded by his loving family at home. Born in Camaguey, Cuba and graduated from business school. He owned and managed a farm alongside his father, where they raised cattle and cultivated sugarcane. He met his sweetheart, Yolanda, while on horseback as she was teaching at a nearby city. He serenaded her and they fell in love. They married 5 months later on August 12, 1960 at the Purisima Concepcion Church in Oriente, Manzanillo. They had a fantastic celebration with their family. They spent a wonderful time on their honeymoon in Havana, Cuba. Their romance and marriage lasted 63 years.
After the start of the Revolution, in February 1971, they immigrated with their 3 children and no money in their pocket. They arrived in Miami, Florida by a private plane, Eastern airlines, that was commissioned by the United States and then flew to New Jersey. He started working immediately without depending on any assistance at 3M Company, where he worked for 25 years. Upon retiring he focused on his hobby of construction and formed a company which did private home jobs. Overcoming language barriers and despite having no financial support, they purchased their first home in Elizabeth, NJ, where they lived for 45 years. They became snowbirds when they purchased their second home in Miami in 1992 and later in Hallandale Beach in 2012. While still enjoying the weather in Florida, they relocated to Rahway in 2020. Through hard work they put all three children through Catholic elementary schools and Catholic high schools. They then paid for their children's college and postgraduate education. They lived the American dream.
