Uncle Buddy I remember the days when you we heard you blow the shell sounding your arrival Fish-Shrimp. Those were the good olden days. You lived a good life here on earth and your name is written in the book of life. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in Peace. 
To your loving wife untie Sheila I know she’ll miss you such a special woman may God bless and keep her. To all the children Neville Barbara Anita Lyndon Roxanne and Leslie and each of your spouse and children too many to name. Brother Yapp was a nice, and a quiet person .  He would not talk much, but he will receive you with the warmest smile! Always smiling! However,  curiously enough, when I brought my two nieces who used to live with me, Brother Yapp will open up, and have a conversation with them, particularly, Amnada, the youngest of the two. One can tell that he loves little children!
Brother Yapp was fun in his own way! He will be deeply missed!
Now, we’re left with his memories to treasure!
May God give the children, the family, specially Roxane who was, and still the Rock of her parents. She takes very good care of them both. She’s the Daughter everyone would love to have!
May God continue to Bless Sister Liliane who’s still with us! All Glory to God!

Evan Buddy Yhap was one of the few original solo fishermen who could tell his story of the transition from original fishing to the modern day fishing. 

During his days as a fisherman, his fishing line was made out of cotton which had to be tarred to prevent the water from destroying it.  

Buddy's fishing gear consisted of his boat, with a  sail made from empty flour bags, paddles, his tarred lines with the hooks and the bait. 

During his stint as a fisherman, the fishing industry began to change. The sail was replaced by an outboard engine. The cotton line was replaced by a polythene line. That made the trade easier to execute. Buddy managed all of that with dexterity. 

He was an excellent fisherman, and provided for his family with his expert handling of the evolving times.

I enjoyed going out on the river and the ocean with Buddy, as he caught a variety of fish:  cuma cuma, lauw lauw,  gale backer, Basha etc. Then, when he pulled up his sein, there were Suriname mullet, shrimps, lobsters, and other small fish. 

He regularly supplied the village of Domburg and the neighboring villages with this valued commodity. It was a pleasure to go out and fish with Buddy.

He will also be remembered as a good neighbor as well as a quiet and approachable individual whom I never once saw getting flustered.

May his legacy be remembered by all of us who came into contact with him.

Condolences to his wife, Lillian (Sheila) children, grandchildren and other relatives. May all the memories you have created with him, comfort you all in this your time of grief and loss.

The list of offsprings speaks volume of a life well lived. As we say goodbye to uncle Buddy, it is fitting therefore that we celebrate a life that spans such a vast generation.  Pray that God's reconciling grace will grant him eternal resting peace. Pray God's comforting arms will embrace his family with love and peace at this time.

My heartfelt sympathy to my aunt and cousin for the lost of my Grandpa who I get to be part of his life all of mine, he is always loving stop to see us when he finishes selling hi fish. I remember the last time he was not that well but he insisted that he come to ARIZONA to see me and his great grand children. He had a wonderful  time with us enjoy picking the fruits in my backyard. We had good conversation. May his soul rest in peace. Love you Grandpa.
