Elizabeth Bernadette Wojtowicz (Dooley), 81, of Matawan, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2022. She was known as Betty, born on August 20, 1940 in Elizabeth, NJ to her late parents Mary (Gibbons) and George Dooley. Betty grew up in Linden and graduated from St Mary’s High School in Elizabeth, as a mom she received her bachelor’s degree from Kean University in Education. She was a substitute teacher for many years and retired as a data entry specialist from Schering Plough/Merck. In retirement, Betty enjoyed part time positions at Green Meadows Farm and the flower department at Costco. Betty resided at Cheesequake Village in Matawan, NJ where she was a past trustee, worked on the Welcoming, Activities and Newsletter committees. In her retirement years she enjoyed having lunch with her sisters and friends, playing cards and bingo in the community, and traveling to listen to her favorite local band, Madison Avenue. Betty's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, friends, and especially with her grandchildren having pillow fights and attending their sporting events.
Betty was preceded in death by her 2 sisters; MaryJane Sheehan, Joan Rizzolo; Aunt Margaret, 3 Brothers; Jack, Billy and George Dooley.
Betty is survived by 4 loving children; Lorraine Jagodinski, and husband Kevin of Lebanon, OH, Edward Wojtowicz of Matawan, NJ, Tommy Wojtowicz, of North Brunswick, Joan Wojtowicz, of Roselle, 3 Sisters; Peggy Greeley, Ann Dwyer, Ellen Duffy, 1 Brother; Robert Dooley, 2 Daughter in Laws; Colleen and Barbara Wojtowicz, 7 Grandchildren; Shannon Morman, and husband Chris of Ohio, Kyle Jagodinski, and wife Rachel of Wyoming, Katie Guarda, and husband Josh of NJ, Michael Wojtowicz, of NJ, Katrina Wojtowicz, of NJ, Alexis Wojtowicz, and husband Benjy Cannon of Washington, DC, Jake Wojtowicz, and fiancé Kristina Lisa of NJ, 3 Great-Grandchildren; Ryan, Madison, and Emma Guarda all of NJ, along with numerous nieces and nephews of the Sheehan, Greeley, Duffy, Rizzolo, Dwyer and all three Dooley families.
A visitation for Betty will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 4-8PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East St. George Avenue Linden. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, February 24, 2022, 9:30AM from the funeral home. Funeral mass will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 10:30AM. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
