From one Marine MoM to another, my heart is shattered alongside yours. Though I cannot truly know the depth of your pain, please know that I cry for you and with you. I have no words that can lessen the sorrow, only love and shared understanding that stretches from one broken heart to another.

We raise our children with courage, knowing they walk a path few dare to take. We pray, we wait, we worry, and we stand proud. But nothing prepares a mother for this kind of goodbye. Your son will never be forgotten—his bravery, his sacrifice, and the love he carried with him will echo through every Marine family who hears his name.

As members of this sacred family—Marine Parents—we grieve as one. No one but those of us who have stood where you stand, with hearts full of both pride and fear, can understand the sacrifices so deeply entwined in this journey.

I send you my deepest sympathies and all the strength my heart can give. May you find comfort in the arms of those who love you, and may your son rest in eternal peace, guarded forever by the brotherhood he served.

As a Linden resident & Mother of a Marine, Id like to extend my most heartfelt condolances to the entire family. When you  have a child in the USMC, every Marine is yours. This loss of yours is also mine. Every Mother with a Marine feels this loss deep within our heart, in a place that only the mother of a military member knows exists. A place where we lift our children daily in prayer & wrap them in love from afar. Vivian, our children enlist & but we  get drafted, we do every minute of service along with them. Parris island trains Marines, but WE, MAKE them. Please remember your strength is unyielding, your faith is unwavering  & your courage is unimaginable. I am very sorry for the loss of David.  I heard about his passing from my grandson, PFC Eric Smith, who also serves at Twenty-nine Palms.
I appreciate David's service.  I pray God will comfort the family, bless them , and give them peace.  May David's memory live on in your hearts.

My sincerest condolences to David’s family.   I remember David since he was little and got to see him grow up over the years; he was always so attentive and outgoing in a subtle way. I remember him playing basketball with my good friend and her son at the end of our street when he was a young teen. Even before that, I remember him on his little tricycle asking me why I’m trying to get into my house through the window when we have a door. I told him I had locked myself out and he just kind of smiled, shook his little head and drove away on his little three- wheeler. My heart breaks to learn of this sad news, gone too soon is so true. I am so sorry again to David’s family and loved ones. I thank him and his family for his service to our country. He was a light in this world and will surely be missed. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
