Carole A Ruane

Carole (Scott) Ruane 87, a longtime resident of Elizabeth, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Carole was born in Pittston Pennsylvania to her late parents, Charles and Mary (Kelly) Scott on April 16, 1936. She attended St. John's High School in Pittston, Pennsylvania. She married her high school sweetheart James Ruane in 1956. She was a homemaker for many years taking care of her 4 children and husband. She worked for Acme Supermarkets for twenty years, retiring in 1992. She was also PTA President of Jefferson High School in Elizabeth from 1974 through 1976. She was an avid volunteer in her community.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, James in March of 2022. She was the devoted mother of James Ruane and his wife Nancy, Brian Ruane and his wife Bernadette, Lynn Cuppari and her husband Frank, Lisa Milano and her husband Michael. Loving sister to the late Marita Remaly, Marcella Dougherty, John Scott ,Helen Lyons, Margaret Coyne, Charles Scott, Grace Scott, Robert Scott, Ann Jordan and Miriam Scott.

She was the cherished grandmother of James Ruane, Frankie Cuppari, Tyler Ruane, Brian Scott Ruane, Kelsey Ruane, Nicky Cuppari, Michael Milano, Matthew Milano and Joseph Milano and the late James Anthony Cuppari. Great grandmother of Skylar Ruane, Avery Ruane, Riley Ruane, Gavin Ruane, Jameson Ritter and Fletcher Ritter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Carole will be held Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A funeral mass will take place Monday, June 12, 2023 ,10:30 AM at St Genevieve's Church, 200 Monmouth Rd, Elizabeth, NJ 07208, Elizabeth, NJ 07208. A funeral will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067.
