Thomas "Tom" Jeffrey Hinds

October 31, 1947 ~ February 3, 2024

Tom passed away on February 3, 2024 surrounded by family in Lincoln. Born on Halloween, October 31, 1947, Tom was the only child of Harold and Muriel (Cole) Hinds of Lincoln. It was Tom's home as well as Lake Placid, NY and Fort Myers, Fl. He returned to Lincoln in 1993.

Tom attended Lincoln Southeast where he excelled in boys gymnastics and started his band before attending UNL. Later Tom received his BA from Concordia College. Tom's career includes a manager at Miller and Paine, owner of Encore Screen Printing and Employer Outreach Director for Nebraska Treasurer's Office until retirement in 2016. Tom was President of Lincoln Jaycees in 1975-76 and was inducted into the Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. He was an original member of the Modds and the Explotls, a big supporter of UNL Athletics, he loved golf, rock and roll music and tailgating before football games. He traveled to 50 states and 12 countries.

Tom is survived by Mary (Beall) wife of 38 years and his children Daniel (Janna) Hinds of Kansas City;

Cori (Brian) Vavricek of Schyuler and grandchildren: Kayli, Addison, Allison, and Axel Vavricek;

Sydney and Parker Hinds; brothers and sisters-in-law, nephew and nieces.

Tom was preceded in death by parents, parents-in-law John and Phyllis Beall, brother-in-law Don Bell, Richard Beall and sister-in-law Bridget Beall.

Per Tom's wishes there will be a private interment. Celebration of life will be held at Wilderness Ridge,1800 Wilderness Woods Pl, on March 24, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
