Stacy Lee Berringer, 49 of Lincoln, passed away March 22, 2018. Born April 28, 1968, in
Clarinda, Iowa to James and Melanie Montgomery. She was united in marriage to James Duain
Berringer on September 1, 1990.
Stacy graduated from Clarinda Senior High in 1986, and Peru State College in 1990 with a
Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Sociology. Stacy grew up working for her parents in
Clarinda, Iowa at Hawley Rexall Drug, and later worked for the Design Team at Harris Labs.
Her greatest joy was working for LPS at McPhee Elementary in the Preschool classroom. Stacy
was active and involved at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, NE for over 25 years.
Stacy leaves behind James, her loving husband of 27 years, daughter Jaraka Shyanne
Berringer and husband Tyson Helm, and sons Skyler Jaden Berringer and Dakota Laken
Berringer. Parents Melanie (Darrel) Sump of Clarinda, Iowa and James (Diana) Montgomery of
Green Valley, Arizona, sister Wendy Schoen (friend Clay Haferbier) of Blue Springs, Missouri
and brother Scott (Karrie) Montgomery of Sierra Vista, Arizona, nieces and nephews Geren and
Graceyn Schoen, and Morgan, Megan, Tanner and Isabel Montgomery. Sister In-Law Sue Binns
of New Market, IA, Brothers In-Law Ronald Berringer, Omaha, NE, Tim (Gayla) Berringer of
Independence LA, Jason Berringer of Yorktown, IA, Justin Berringer of Omaha, NE and many
nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by grandparents James and Mary Montgomery and Chet and Kate Lee.
Father-In Law Donald Duain Berringer.
In memory of Stacy Berringer, Memorials to Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools for the
support of McPhee Pre-school children.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-6 pm, on March 25, 2018 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11:00 am, on March 26, 2018 at Westminster
Presbyterian Church, at 27th and Sheridan Boulevard, with a light lunch afterwards. Private
family burial.
Stacy was loved for her kindness and gentle heart to all those that knew her. She loved
traveling with her family and just spending time with them. Anyone lucky enough to have
been touched by Stacy over the years will greatly miss her, but will never forget her.
