Sharon Swisher of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Sunday April 19th after a hard fought battle with Alzheimer's and diabetes with her daughter holding her hand. She passed surrounded by her many animals that she loved and enjoyed in her home where she was comfortable. She was born on July 14, 1951 to Raymond and Ruth (Armstrong) Kathman in Omaha, Nebraska.
She was married June 2, 1984 to the love of her life, Bruce. They raised three children together in a home filled with love and laughter. After the passing of her husband in 1996, many hours were passed remembering funny stories, fishing trips, and the legacy of the farting Turkey.
Sharon was proudest of her children. Terry (Charlet) Swisher of Lincoln; a marine, a good father, a good grandfather, a good son. Chris, the son taken too soon in the war on terror, also a good father, a good son, and a good man. And Lisa, who stood by her side through everything.
Survived by son, Terry (Charlet) Swisher of Lincoln, daughter; Lisa Swisher of Lincoln; Deb Malin, a friend she viewed as a daughter; sisters, Jeanie (Mark) Donaldson of St. Joe, Missouri, Kathie (Roger) of Savannah, Missouri; brother Bernie (Debbie) Kathman of Simla, Colorado, mother Ruth Kathman of St. Joe, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 2 1/2 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; special friend Susie Joyce, whose visits always left her uplifted and happy; and especially Gary, her service dog.
Preceded in death by Bruce, Chris, her father Ray Kathman, brother Danny Kathman.
A special thank you to Dr. Anthony Dresbach, who cared for Sharon and attended to her medical needs these last years.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials for the family are in care of Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home to be sent to the family for future designation.
