She was born on July 21, 1945, to Arlie and Maxine (Zulkoski) Worm in Ord, Nebraska. Sandy grew up on farms in Valley County, Nebraska. Her favorite childhood memories included spending time with her Grandma and Grandpa Worm. At age 12, following the death of her father Arlie, her family moved to Ord, Nebraska. In 1963, she graduated from Ord High School. Soon after graduation, she moved to Lincoln, where she attended Lincoln School of Commerce. Sandy started working at ISCO in 1979 and worked her way up to manager of the Credit and Collections department. After 23 years of service, she retired from ISCO and furthered her career in credit and collections at Tabitha. In 2012, Sandy retired and devoted her life to spending time with her family, with a special goal to make memories with her great-grandchildren. She formed cherished connections with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sandy affectionately became known as “Grandma Worm” to not only her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but to many others who lovingly adored her.
Sandy also enjoyed traveling with her best friend Darold. She particularly enjoyed visiting San Diego, Colorado, and Bainbridge Island. Sandy’s hobbies included sewing; her favorite project was creating memorial bears made from a loved one’s clothing. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends.
