Samuel A. Malone, 41, of Lincoln, passed away 4/17/2017, after a courageous battle with melanoma. He was born on 1/8/1976 in Winfield, Kansas to Steve & Joy (Bertrand) Malone. He graduated from Allen High School in 1994. He married Marcia Hansen on 8/31/1996. To this union four children were born. He joined the Army and after four years he transitioned to the Nebraska Army National Guard. His 20 years of service as a Logistics NCO included multiple units, most recently the 209th RTI. He received numerous awards for exemplary service. His passion for his career was evident to anyone he worked with. His proudest moment of his career was competing for the supply excellence award. He was so proud of his children and loved watching their activities, helping whenever he could. He was actively involved with the Cub and Boy Scouts with his sons Alex & Owen, serving as a Den & Pack leader for Pack #22. He was actively involved in Troop #22 as an assistant Cub Master & Committee Chair. Sam loved to go hunting, fishing, camping and participated in other outdoor activities with his family and friends. He enjoyed helping as a youth hunting guide. He was an avid Thunderbird car enthusiast and was always looking for one more “go fast” part. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the huskers. Sam is survived by: His wife Marcia, sons Alex & Owen, daughters Kaitlyn & Emma all of Lincoln Parents Steve & Joy Malone of Woodstock, GA.
