Ronald “Ron” DeWayne Pierce, age 81, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024. Ron was born October 12, 1942 to John and Delores (Kreps) Pierce. He was a 1960 graduate of Lincoln Northeast High School and a member of the Nebraska Army National Guard. Ron worked for the City of Lincoln Public Works Department for over thirty-three years as a supervisor, foreman, and heavy equipment operator before retirement. He spent the last years of his life spending time with the people he loved.
He enjoyed watching professional wrestling, western movies, listening to country and polka music, attending craft fairs, and watching Husker athletics with a Pepsi in his hand.
Ron will be missed by his sons Jeff and Cindy Pierce, Kerry and Erin Pierce, Quentin Pierce; grandsons Mason, Preston, Carson, Cameron, Jacob, Logan Pierce, and Alex Brand; brothers, Edward & Patricia Pierce, Richard and Nadine Pierce; significant other, LaDonna Wheeler and her family including Cindy Ware, Heather and Chris Burks; step grandchildren Ezekhial Wheeler, Zayne and Zariannah Burks, Jasmine and Morgan Ware, and Diamond Turner.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife Holly (Hatcher) Pierce; daughter, Tonda Brand; brother, George Pierce.
A memorial celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 17, 2024 at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 8300 E Pointe Road, Lincoln, NE 68506 followed by a reception. A family graveside burial will be held prior to the service at Lincoln Memorial Park.
The family requests memorials to the family to be designated at a later date.
