Dean was the 3rd child of 6. He leaves 2 brothers, Gary and Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Don and Dale and sister, Shirley.
Dean grew up on a farm near Lenox, IA. He attended country school through the 8th grade and then graduated from Lenox High School in 1957.
He married his high school sweetheart, Clare Ellen Brown, January 28, 1957. After he finished high school, they moved to Lincoln, NE.
To this union three children were born, Eddie Dean, Debbie DeAnn and Todd Alan.
Dean worked a few different jobs in the marriage, but his main jobs were Johnson Apco and Whitehead Oil where he drove gasoline transports.
In their early years, they met the Kiplingers while square dancing and both families became lifelong friends with many memories playing cards, football in the vacant lot, and family dinners (tacos!) together.
Dean enjoyed spending time with each of 6 grandchildren, Trent, Nikki, Lexi, Paige, Michelle, and Adam.
He retired in June 2009. After retirement, he enjoyed his family, his home, Husker sports, KC Royals and KC Chiefs.
Survived by wife of 66 years, Clare E (Brown) Davis; children: Eddie, Debbie and Todd. Grandchildren: Trenton Dean Schaffer, Nicole Louise Schaffer, Alexis Clare Davis, Paige Kathryn Davis, Michelle Leigh Brigman (Jamaal), Adam Todd Davis and brothers Gary and Jack.
Preceded in death, brothers Don and Dale; sister Shirley Haney; parents Clyde and Freda (Basler) Davis.
Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. Luncheon reception to follow service.
