Robert (Bob) LaVern Poppe, 64, passed away on February 13, 2017. Robert was born December 5, 1952 in Odell, Nebraska. Robert was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Odell, NE. Robert graduated Odell High School in 1971 and graduated from Lincoln School of Commerce in 1973. Robert was employed at Farm Bureau Insurance and worked there for over 30 years and Hy-Vee Food Stores for 4 years. Robert was an avid Nebraska sports fan and loved baking, traveling, and visiting with people. Robert was preceded in death by father, LaVern Poppe, grandparents: Roe and Louise Lovitt; Frank and Emma Poppe and other family members. Survivors: mother, Ruth Poppe, brothers: Terrance (Daphane), Richard (Lynn), Scott (Carol) and sister Lisa Poppe. Also 8 nieces, 2 nephews and 1 great nephew. Memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, NE.
