Bob was a neighbor of my parents. When my mom, Nadine Gray, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1995, Bob came over on Christmas eve and took a family photo that we cherish to this day. Our dad, Reverend Albert Gray passed away two years later. We are very sorry for your loss. Bob was a very kind and generous man.

Kirk and I just learned of Bob's passing.  We can picture everyone and everything that was The Picture Man, like it was yesterday.  In fact, when we really sit down and think about it today, we have to marvel at the big part of our college lives that was The Picture Man.  Gosh, Kirk asked me out on our first date just outside the shop on Q Street!

I was a "picture girl" from about 1988 through 1991.  Bob and John were amazing to work for!  I still hear Bob's voice "don't bullseye it", even now when I pick up my Nikon, 25 years later.  The lessons learned from the Picture Man go far beyond taking pictures.  Please know he touched countless lives and the ripples will continue.  Peace to your hearts.

Bob was the "link" for all of us sorority gals at the special events we fondly remember. We couldn't wait for the Picture Man's proofs to arrive at the Chi O house. He was so fun to be around and showed up at reunions-both high school and college-so never lost touch with many of us who were so privileged to know him. Bob was so patient with everyone he encountered.  He was very friendly and provided so many memories to thousands of people before everyone had their own phone camera!  RIP Bob.  I will always remember your sense of humor and kindness!

My brother Doug called and told us of Bob's passing.  Vic and I were so glad to be able to enjoy time with him at the Class of 65's reunion.  We have wonderful memories of our sports car racing days. Bob was a special guy. I remember him from all the high school events he would take pictures at. He was always easy to talk to.

Picture Man pictures are the soundtrack to my college years. I treasure those photos. They capture the joy and exuberance of youth like nothing else has. I remember Bob himself shooting many of the events. We always thought it very cool that his wife was a Chi O. My condolences to your family.
