After working as a draftsman for more than 10 years with Clark & Enersen in Lincoln, NE, Bob became a pioneer of special events and digital photography. In his 40 year career, he was recognized with multiple awards as one of the Top 10 event photographers in the nation. He participated in Leadership Lincoln, was a member of Rotary Club #14, Professional Photographers of America, and the Pinelake Neighborhood Association. He loved helping people create and record memories throughout his career as “The Picture Man” and left an immortal legacy behind through the millions of photos we will all be enjoying for generations to come. In his retirement he enjoyed participating in the Audubon Club, Camera Club, Garden Club, and Science Club. His hobbies included sports cars, traveling, marveling at the wonders of nature and enjoying family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judy (Gillam) Olson; Daughter and Son-in-law, Lisa and Jason Diaz, Houston, TX; Son and Daughter-in-law, Chris and Kari Olson, Council Bluffs, IA; Granddaughter, Macy Olson; Grandson, Jonas Diaz; Brother and Sister-in-law, John Olson and Charlotte Wiebe of Lincoln; Siblings-in-law, Deb Payne of Lincoln, Jack and Linda Gillam of Grand Island, NE, Tim and Doreen Griess of Firth, NE; 1 niece and 8 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irma and Carl Olson; grandparents, John and Hilda Olson and Claudia and Milan D. Baker; aunts and uncles.
