Randall G. McEwen, 83 of Lincoln passed away September 26, 2014. Born March 26, 1931 to Leonard and Winifred (Foreman) McEwen at Clay Center, NE. Graduate of Belleville, KS High School and the University of Nebraska Lincoln. United in marriage to Faye Graham on August 16, 1953 in Belleville, KS. Retired from Lincoln Public Schools where he was a consultant of music for 24 years. US Army Major (Ret.). Member of the Army ROTC; Tau Kappa Epsilon; Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia; Gamma Lambda; Nebraska Music Education Association where he served as secretary; treasurer, vice president, president, and past president; a member of the Nebraska Music Educators Association Hall of Fame as well as the North Central Division Chair of the NAFME. Taught at several schools, including, Bertrand, Wisner, Norfolk, Northeast Community College, as well as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He is survived by his children, Kim Ellen (Dave) Stemper of Lincoln and Randall Scott (Julie A.) McEwen of Lincoln; grandchildren, Katherine (Mike) Bohling; Jeffrey (Liz) Owen; Brittany (Jacob) Cearley; Blake McEwen; Cole McEwen and Dylan McEwen; seven great-grandchildren, as well as his beloved companion, his dog Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Faye and daughter Julie. Funeral Services will be Tuesday September 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family or to the donor’s choice.
