Pearl L. Focken

Focken – Pearl Lavern, 93, Douglas, NE, passed away Monday 4/6/2015. Pearl was born on March 31, 1922 in Wilber. She graduated from Wilber High School and Peru Teacher Normal Training. She loved teaching in her one room school and farming side by side with her husband. Pearl married the love of her life, Lawrence Jonnie Focken on September 28, 1943. Survivors: children, Judi Schmidt, Sterling, John (Max) Focken, Cook, Rob Focken, Palmyra, Vicki Focken, Douglas, Joyce (Barry) Blackwell, St. Louis, MO, June (Carol McCormick) Focken, Glenwood, IA, Rosalie (Andrew) Beliel, Wichita, KS, Russell Focken , Lincoln; sisters-in-law; Alice Vlasak, Ellen Vlasak, both of Wilber; grandchildren: Mark Schmidt, Shelia Focken, Doug Schmidt, Gerald Focken, Jennie Schmidt, Nick Focken, Bailey Focken, Brandy Focken, Jourdan Blackwell, Theresa Blackwell, Abigail Beliel, Amy Beliel; nephews and nieces; many friends; former students; and her beloved four legged companion, Libby. Preceded in death by: parents, Robert and Orva (Tegeler) Vlasak; husband, Lawrence; son, Sam; grandson, Tim Schmidt; son-in-laws Jeff Herbanek, Darrell Schmidt; brothers, Lawrence Vlasak, Herbert Vlasak; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Kelly and Dora Schachenmeyer, Grace Duitsman, Harold and Mildred Weber; nieces, nephews, and friends.
