Olive Dell Myers, a resident of Lincoln, left in peace October 27. She began her life on February 18, 1915 in Leigh, Nebraska, the daughter of Dr. Charles and Mamie Eby. She will be remembered as a kind and strong heart, a loving wife and mother; the sturdy foundation of her family of two sons and an extended family of many. Olive grew up in Leigh and then attended UNL where she met and married Kenneth Myers, a marriage that lasted nearly 66 years. She made homes with her family all across the Midwest and was a Lincoln resident for more than 35 years prior to her death. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had a wide range of interests, including volunteer work for the senior community. Olive is survived by her son, Charles (Chuck) and by eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles, her sister, Charlotte, her husband, Ken and her son Mike. Her mother, Mamie, would have said of her, "She understood the eternal fitness of things". Her loss diminishes eternal fitness for us all and her hearty laugh and wry smile will be missed. A family celebration of life is planned for a future date. Memorial contributions to the University of Nebraska Foundation. Condolences may be left online at www.lincolnfh.com.
