Mildred Ford was born July 7th, 1928, in Oklahoma City, OK to Harrison Ford and Ruth (Julian) Ford. She was the middle of fifteen children. Mildred met and married her husband Ralph Humphrey in Vancouver, Washington on January 7th, 1948. They were blessed with two children, Ruth Anna Schroeder Eisenmann and Ralph Humphrey Jr (often called Buddy), who were both baptized and confirmed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Humphrey Sr., her parents, several brothers and sisters, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, her sons-in-law and her grandson Zak Eisenmann.
Mildred was active in her children’s lives, being a Den mother for Cub Scouts and making costumes for her children in tap lessons. She loved sewing and needlework. Mildred was active in Holy Cross Lutheran Church LWML and sang in the choir for many years. During all this, Mildred made time to attend nursing school, graduating with honors and earning an NSG.
Our family spent many weekends and vacations with our aunt, uncle, and cousins. We would go camping, climbing hills, visiting our Pa Richard in Arkansas on his farm, and enjoying our mother’s cooking on an old wood stove. We enjoyed visiting mom’s parents most Sundays for Grandma’s fried chicken in Modesto, CA, with our aunts and uncles being there, and going with our family on Sunday drives.
Mildred was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Survivors include Mildred’s son Ralph Humphrey Jr and daughter Ruth Eisenmann, and nephew Kirk Reamul. Grandchildren include Matthew (Christina) Humphrey, Richard (Kim) Schroeder, Stephani (David) Rawlings, Andrew Eisenmann, Benjamin Eisenmann, Zak Eisenmann, Sam Eisenmann, and Anna (Tinh) Eisenmann, and Elisabeth (Jimmy) Burnette. Great grandchildren include Jaymie and Jayden Humphrey, Nicholas Schroeder, Ryal (Mandi) Wood, Jonas Bartek, Marley and Zen Schroeder, and Maddie and Jade Eisenmann.
