Mickey R Griffin

Mickey R. Griffin age 87 of Lincoln passed away on November 6, 2017 in Lincoln. He was born on March 23, 1930 in Whitney, Nebraska to Roy and Pauline (Krieger) Griffin. He attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1947. Mickey joined the US Navy in 1947 and served three years. He married Edna Bouwens on November 16, 1951 to this union five children were born. Mickey was self employed as a finish carpenter, specializing in custom kitchens. He was a 50 year member of Masonic Temple Lodge #54 and the Sesostoris Shrine. Mickey was 60 year member of the VFW. He enjoyed cribbage and was an avid Husker fan. Mickey is survived by his sons, Kent Griffin of Lincoln; Mickey (Janis) Griffin of Lincoln; Todd Griffin of Waverly; daughter, Bonnie Griffin and Doug Loftus of Ashland; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Whited of Lincoln; brothers, Eugene Griffin of Lincoln; Robert (Karen) Griffin of Lincoln; son-in-law, Bob Swift of Lincoln. Preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Karen Swift, brothers, Dick and Bobby. Visitation: Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Service: Monday, November 13, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
