Sandy passed away Saturday February 10th, 2018 in the presence of her loving family and leaves behind a legacy of involvement and activity. Born on March 20, 1950 in Munich, Germany to a military family, they soon moved to Copperas Cove, Texas where she grew up and met Norm, her husband of 48 years in nearby Killeen. After moving to Nebraska she became involved with the outdoors, started a family and was very much involved with many of her family’s activities and organizations. She was an active member and supporter of everything she and her family were involved with including the United Nebraska Muzzleloading Association holding many titles, co-sport director for Muzzleloading in the Cornhusker State Games for 28 years, the PTA at West Lincoln Elementary, a den mother and pack leader for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and later their Secretary Treasurer. She loved the outdoors, muzzleloading, shooting trap, skeet, archery, fishing, hunting, camping, and having a great time. She was an excellent shooter and won numerous awards in all shooting sports. She received the 2015 State Games of America senior Athlete of the Year. She began working at Scheels All Sports six months before they opened and retired in 2015. She was an artist, a crafter, goofball, and made a mean meat loaf, there wasn't anything she wouldn't try to do or a smile she couldn’t raise. Her most important thing was family and none of us would be as strong as we are without her. She will be missed beyond words.
Survived by her husband Norman Gesch; two children and families Jason Karl & Beth Gesch and Joshua Stuart & Kathy Gesch; grandchildren: Bradly, Christine, Peyton, Keegan and baby Gesch arriving soon; Brother Mike & Jennie Geary; Sister and brother in law Cheryl & LeRoy Skaggs; many more nieces and nephews.
