Marcia Lynne Russell née Salestrom, loving wife, mother, grandmother, was born on September 3rd, 1938 in Grand Island, NE to Orville and Lillian Salestrom. She passed away at her home in Lincoln on May 5th, 2020 at age 81. Marcia grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in May of 1956. After high school, she married Glen Frauen with his two year old son, Mike. Marcia and Glen had three children together; Scott, Todd, and Carla. In 1972, Marcia bought a house in Lincoln and lived there with her three kids. Seven years later, In 1979 Marcia married Maurice Russell who she met at her job as a receptionist at Lincoln Orthopedic Clinic. He was a pharmaceutical salesman for Eli Lilly. Later, she worked at Dr. Strnot, Lott, and Bigler’s dermatology office for over 30 years and was eventually promoted to head receptionist. She retired in 2010 and spent her retirement at home with husband, Maurice and dog, Snickers. Marcia loved her extensive family and hosted most holidays at her home.
Marcia belonged to the Lincoln Southeast Kiwanas club and was an active member in St. Paul Methodist Church and was a part of the United Methodist Women’s group.
Marcia was preceded in death by husband Maurice, her father and mother, Orville and Lillian Salestrom, brother Ronald, and granddaughter Kristin Russell.
She is survived by children, Mike Frauen, Scott (Karen) Frauen, Todd (Marylou) Frauen, Carla Steadman. Doug (Vicki) Russell, Vicki Russell (Brad Fischer) 16 Grandchildren - Alicia Davis, Zoe Frauen, Zefri Frauen, Amanda Wilson, Jeremy Smith, Ian Frauen, Shiloh Frauen, Sean Frauen, Sierra Frauen, Molly Steadman, Tanja Sommers, Drew Russell, Nathan Russell, Bryant Russell, Doug Anderson, Haylee Fischer, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Marcia enjoyed monthly dinners with her No-Hats group of friends, Kiwanis club activities, including participating in the back pack program with the Lincoln Food Bank, church activities, and walking her dog, Snickers. Last, but not least, her greatest joy in life was to be surrounded by her family and friends.
