Lelith “Lee” Vasina Focht, age 96, of Omaha, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024. Born to Charles and Lillian (Kottas) Vasina on January 23, 1928, in Milligan, NE, Lelith was the youngest of eight children. She graduated from Milligan High School in 1945 and shortly after moved to Lincoln. In 1958, she met Morris “Morrie” at the Flying V dance hall while out with her sister. They soon married and relocated to San Jose, California, along with his two children, Ron and Jackie. Both were involved in the early days of Silicon Valley, working at Fairchild Semiconductor. They were later blessed with two daughters, Robyn and Lori. In 1979, they returned to Nebraska to be closer to family. Lelith had a passion for cooking, evident from her many cookbooks, and enjoyed fishing, shopping, visiting her hometown, Milligan, and spending time with her family, friends, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Thelander (Patrick Pittman) of Omaha; grandson, Trevor Thelander of Dallas, TX; daughter, Lori Davies (Roger) and granddaughters, Anya and Zoe Davies of Fort Collins, CO. Lelith was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lillian Vasina; brothers, Ernest Vasina, Gerald (Marietta) Vasina, Leonard (Joanne) Vasina; sisters, Erma (Leo) Simkovsky, Geraldine (Robert) Wink, Marion Vasina, Marcella (Delmar) Park, Barbara and June; stepson, Ronald (Janell) Focht; stepdaughter, Jacqueline Dunham; and grandson, Keenan Thelander.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm with a visitation beginning one hour prior at 1:00 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512. Memorials can be made out to Robyn Thelander for later designation to the Community of Milligan accompanied by an employer match by Microsoft.
